Colorado Springs Utilities said power has been restored to the 4,000 people who were without it this evening. They said an equipment malfunction caused the outage.

Colorado Springs Utilities say around 4,000 people are without power Tuesday night.

They said the power went out around 6:40 p.m. and is affecting people who live in the following zip codes: 80918, 80923, 80917.

Crews are working to restore the power, which is expected to be turned back on in the next two hours.

At this time officals do not know why the power went out.
