Driver in fatal Greeley store crash leaves hospital

GREELEY, COLO. -- Update:

A man whose pickup crashed into a Visionworks store in the Greeley Mall, killing two including a woman from Pueblo, has been released from a hospital.

His name hasn't been released.

Witnesses have told police it appeared he was unconscious before the crash.

Investigators say he may have a medical condition.

Police initially said the man was 19, but now say he was 29.

He lives in Evans.

23-year-old Jennifer Hudgens of Pueblo and 32-year-old Kimberly Fletcher were killed in the Saturday crash.

Hudgens was a store employee and Fletcher was a customer.

Fletcher's 9-year-old son, Zachary, was with her.

He was treated for glass injuries and was released.

Fletcher's husband, Tony, is a security guard at the mall and was among the first to respond to the crash.

Greeley police said two people inside an eyeglass store were killed after a truck smashed into the business.

Police said it appears the driver of the truck was accelerating when the vehicle slammed into the business but it is not clear why.

The crash happened at about 2:30 p.m. Saturday.

The Visionworks where it happened is located at the Greeley Mall.

Police say the 19-year-old driver from Evans is in stable condition at a local hospital.

The victims have been identified as Kimberley Fletcher, 32, who was a customer in the store, and Jennifer Hudgens, 23, of Pueblo.

Hudgens was a store employee and student at the University of Northern Colorado.
