Man arrested for making fake 911 calls, other crimes

Suspect had drugs on him after put in jail
COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Colorado Springs Police Department arrested Richard Martinez, 46, early Tuesday after a night of allegedly receiving numerous false 911 emergency phone calls from him.
Police report at about 12:25 a.m. an initial call came into the Dispatch Center from an individual who would scream "Help" and then hang up the phone. In all, police received 22 calls of this nature.
Officers found the person making the calls, identified as Martinez. He was taken into custody for false reporting to authorities for the 911 abuse.
Martinez was also found to be in a residence without the owner's permission. He was charged with first-degree criminal trespass and transported to the Criminal Justice Center (CJC).
At CJC, the suspect was also found to have contraband on his person and subsequently charged with introducing contraband into the jail facility.
