COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- A car that was stolen in a carjacking incident on Wednesday afternoon was sighted by Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) just after 3:30 a.m. on Thursday in the 300 block of Logan Avenue.

Officers initially monitored the vehicle from a safe distance when an hour later, the suspect in the car started to drive away and rammed the front of the patrol car.

The suspect then crashed the vehicle into a parked car and fled the area on foot.

CSPD set up a perimeter and called a canine unit to assist, but the suspect was not found.

The investigation is ongoing.
