COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- There wasn't a dry eye in a room filled with more than 1,500 people celebrating 19-year old Levi Patrick's life at New Life Church on Tuesday.
He was a senior at Lewis Palmer High School in Monument, was homecoming king and a star athlete.
“Me being your sister was the greatest thing, and you being my brother was the greatest adventure. I wouldn't have asked for anything different,” said Sasha Patrick, Levi’s sister.
Levi Patrick was killed on Saturday, March 27 when he and some friends were driving home on Interstate 70 from a spring break trip. The Jeep they were in rolled, killing him and injuring three other teens. Levi was ejected from the vehicle.
One of the other teens sitting next to him when the crash happened described Levi's last look.
"The last look I got from Levi was when we heard the treads pop off the tire, we both pulled the headphones out of our ears and at first I thought this was a look of confusion from Levi but we both looked at each other and the look on his face just said to me get ready cause here we go," said Jake Oakey. "I have not had a day where I haven't cried and I've been saying to myself since he's been gone that I was going to reach a higher level of human kindness because of this kid."
Friends say Levi inspired them to be a better person.
Levi's father, Mark Patrick, was one of the last speakers, saying Levi was his best friend and ending with this message:
“I pray all the fathers in this room today reconcile with their children and children with their fathers. I loved Levi and I told him I did everyday. You never know when they're going to leave you. I always wanted to be Levi's hero but he will always be mine."
