STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) -- A Steamboat Springs thrift store is threatening to call police to report individuals leaving donations outside the store while it is closed.
Director David Freseman of the LIFT-UP donation center of Routt County says donations such as books, sofas and other furniture are often destroyed by weather and clearing the piles slow the donation process.
LIFT-UP uses revenue from the thrift store donations to operate a food bank. Officials say they are willing to arrange after-hours donations appointments to encourage the donations.
Signs warning against after business hour donations have been posted outside the store.
