PUEBLO, COLO. -- The Pueblo Police Department will present a Sexually Violent Predator (SVP) Community Notification Meeting Wednesday, March 10, at 7 p.m.

The meeting will cover information and education about SVPs as well as the identity of the latest SVP. The meeting is open to the public and will be held at the PPD Training Academy, located at 150 Central Main (rear entrance).

One of the city’s recent SVPs, Emmanuel Bitsuie, 24, was arrested in the early morning hours on March 8, 2010, for violating a protection order and parole violations. Bitsuie remains in custody and is expected to return to the Colorado Department of Corrections.

The city’s two other SVPs, Gary Donato, 60, and Jefferson Benfield, 47, are currently in compliance with the Colorado Registered Sex Offender Laws.

Donato and Benfield do not have any restrictions, other than registering as an SVP on a quarterly basis for life.

Donato was released from parole in February 2010.

Individuals who cannot attend the meeting will be able to view the information after the meeting on the Pueblo Police Department Web site (www.pueblo.us), or by calling the SVP Information Line at 719-553-2526.
