DENVER -- Gov. Bill Ritter has directed that all U.S. and Colorado flags be lowered to half-staff on state buildings across Colorado on Monday, Dec. 7, from sunrise to sunset, in honor of Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day.

“Nearly seven decades after the unprovoked attack of U.S. military facilities at Pearl Harbor, Dec. 7, 1941, endures as what President Roosevelt called ‘a date which will live in infamy,’” Ritter said. “The people of Colorado joined their fellow Americans back then in responding to the surprise attacks, and I ask all Coloradans to join me in honoring Pearl Harbor Day on Monday. I urge all Coloradans to pause in memory of the brave individuals who defended us on that day.”
