GREELEY, Colo. (AP) -- An Ault police officer whose patrol car collided with another car has been ticketed with careless driving and reckless driving.

Patrick Bobo was hospitalized for two days after the crash Oct. 18 and is on paid medical leave. He says he was heading to help an Eaton officer responding to an accident when the crash happened. Witnesses say Bobo ran through two stop signs on Weld County Road 72 before he crossed U.S. 85 and collided with 73-year-old Bryan E. Marshall Cooke's vehicle. Cooke wasn't seriously injured.

The Colorado State Patrol and the Weld County Sheriff's Office investigated.

Ault Police Chief Rich Strang says a State Patrol report indicates Bobo was using his lights and siren. Cooke and other witnesses said they didn't hear a siren.
