COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- * The Salvation Army is working to fill 2,500 Christmas stockings for needy children this holiday season. Donors who would like to participate can pick up stockings at the Salvation Army Community Center located at 908 Yuma St. in Colorado Springs. Then fill it with toys and other items for a specific gender and age. Pick up stockings Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information on the Fill a Stocking Program call 719-884-1063.
* Take a trip back in time at the El Pomar Carriage Museum. On display are carriages that Spencer Penrose collected during his lifetime. Some of the items in the collection include a Concord stagecoach, a freight wagon and the "Yellow Devil,” Penrose's race car. The museum is located at 11 Lake Ave. and is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is free.
