DENVER (AP) -- Colorado Republicans are working to make sure the state's Taxpayer's Bill of Rights isn't at risk because of the poor economy.

The GOP is putting on a hearing Friday in which several TABOR supporters will say the voter-approved limits on taxation help the state economy. Republicans fear the restriction could come under attack next session because of declining tax revenues and deep cuts in state services.

Earlier this year some Democrats in the Legislature said TABOR and other Colorado tax requirements should be reviewed in light of the state's tanking fiscal picture.
