DENVER (AP) -- Health officials say at least 14 people have died from swine flu in Colorado this season, including six who were age 18 or younger.

The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment said Wednesday that 691 people have been hospitalized with all strains of influenza, including 350 confirmed as swine flu or H1N1.

Department spokeswoman Lori Maldonado says the share of the total influenza cases confirmed as swine flu is likely to rise. At least seven Colorado schools are currently closed because of the flu. Maldonado says a total of 13 have been closed at some point, but some have reopened.

The six swine flu deaths among children 18 or younger is the most among any Colorado age group. Three other deaths were in the 25-49 group, three in the 50-64 group and two were 65 or older.
