DENVER (AP) -- Denver police say five people, some of whom were children, were hurt Sunday in a two-car crash.

Police spokeswoman Detective Lesley Branch-Wise said "up to four children, some teenagers, some younger" might have been among the five hospitalized Sunday night at Denver Health Medical Center.

Their conditions were not immediately known.

She says four of the five people were ejected when their vehicle was struck in Denver and that it appeared alcohol was involved in the incident.

She did not know whether the driver who caused the crash had been charged.
