FORT CARSON, COLO. -- The Orchard Canyon Fire is now 90 percent contained, according to information released by officials from Fort Carson late Thursday afternoon.

A Global Positioning System (GPS) survey was conducted, and the results show 131 acres burned. This is significantly less than the earlier estimate of 250 acres.

No injuries have been sustained and the fire does not pose a threat to any structures.

Firefighters from Colorado Springs, El Paso County and Fort Carson have worked cooperatively to extinguish this fire.
