Santa still accepting letters

NORTH POLE, COLO. -- For those looking to get a request to Santa in the mail, they'd better do it quick. Santa's helpers are still at the North Pole, but only until the week of Christmas.

The North Pole, located near Cascade along the Pikes Peak Highway, accepts letters from all over the world from children writing in to Santa. The helpers read the letters and send a return postcard.  Every year, thousands of letters are sent to the North Pole.

Carol Reppenhagan, one of Santa's helpers, has noticed a couple things different this year. First, the letters contain more questions.

For example, one letter asks how reindeer fly. Another asks if Santa prefers coffee over milk. Also, some of the letters ask for just one present, a possible side effect of the stumbling economy.
