BLACK FOREST, COLO. -- The members of Black Forest Fire/Rescue are helping Christmas Unlimited brighten the holidays of children in the Pikes Peak region.

Bring new or gently used toys to Black Forest Fire Station 1, at the corner of Burgess and Teachout Roads. Toys may be dropped off between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., through December 21.

Particular favorites are:

  • Traditional board games
  • Sporting goods (especially balls of all kinds)
  • Building sets
  • Play kitchen items
  • Dolls and action figures
  • Personal care items for older children
  • Electronic items (music players, radios, cameras)
  • Bicycles with 20" wheels, and scooters
  • Art, craft and collection kits

Any toys can be donated that children would enjoy, even if they are not listed here.

Christmas Unlimited believes that parents should be the family’s heroes, not the organization or the volunteers. Parents will select gifts for their children in a store-like environment. This method of distribution promotes family unity and parental self-worth, making an impact far beyond a happy child on Christmas morning.

Since 1923, Christmas Unlimited has distributed holiday toys to families in need. For more information about toy donations, call Christmas Unlimited at 719-597-1821, or go to www.christmasunlimited.org.
