COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- A 7-Eleven clerk was arrested late Sunday night after police officers found out he was part of a robbery cover-up.

According to Colorado Springs Police officers, 19-year-old Tyler Klein pretended to be knocked out at the store on Briargate Boulevard around 11:46 p.m. and told officers someone robbed him.

Klein told officers one man attacked him, knocked him out and stole cash.

After investigating, officers realized Klein was lying, and he eventually admitted to making up the story to cover up an employee theft of $4,700.

Officers arrested Klein but did not release any other information.
