WESTMINSTER, Colo. (AP) -- Police are searching for a link between the abduction and slaying of 10-year-old Jessica Ridgeway and the attempted abduction of a 22-year-old woman at a neighborhood lake in May.

Westminster police Thursday said the suspect in the May 28 case involved a white male, approximately 5 foot 6 inches to 5 foot 8 inches tall with a medium build. No vehicle information is available.

The woman in the attempted abduction case was running on a trail around Ketner Lake, which is less than a half mile from Jessica's home where she was last seen alive Oct. 5. Jessica's body was found Oct. 10.

In the attempted abduction case, the woman reported that a man grabbed her from behind and placed a rag over her mouth that had a chemical smell.
