Elderly woman hit by car in grocery store parking lot

COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Colorado Springs Police officers cited and released a driver Wednesday evening who hit an elderly woman in a parking lot.

According to officers, the driver of a gold SUV turned in the Save A Lot parking lot on South Circle Drive around 6:59 p.m. and hit a woman who was walking across the lot.

The woman is recovering in a hospital.

Officers served and released the driver on careless driving and other charges but said drugs and alcohol were not factors in the crash.
