Man arrested for sexually assaulting girls six years ago

EL PASO COUNTY, COLO. -- El Paso County Sheriff's deputies made an arrest over the weekend in a 6-year-old sexual assault on a child case.

Deputies said they got a tip about a sexual assault from 2006 back in April of this year. After investigation, deputies learned there may have been two girls between 7 and 9 years old who were assaulted.

Investigators learned 53-year-old Murray Basinger's wife would babysit the girls, and he would likely sexually assault them when she was sleeping or running errands.

The incidents occurred over a period of a few months. Deputies did not say how Basinger's wife is connected to the girls.

Deputies arrested Basinger Saturday on a sexual assault by one in a position of trust charge. He bonded out Sunday.
