Colorado Springs, Colo., Strong storms passed through southern Colorado Thursday night.

Rain and hail fell, but no major damage or flooding was reported.

The Colorado Springs Police Department did report multiple car accidents over the course of the night.

And, the Colorado Springs Fire Department has reported a lightning strike near Academy Boulevard and Austin Bluffs Parkway.

No injuries were reported, according to the fire department.

The images reminded a lot of folks of the hail storms we saw back in June. But luckily, it wasn't as severe this time around with only ping-pong ball sized hail falling.

Severe thunderstorms hit much of Thursday night and there's a possibility for more in the southeast part of the state, including Bent, Prowers and Baca counties.

The storms are capable of producing large hail and high winds with a slight possibility of a tornado, according to Chief Meteorologist Terry Gerbstadt.
