Man charged in April 23rd homicide, accused in Sin City Disciples homicide

COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Carlos Ford, a known gang member with the 81st Eastside Hustler Crips, has been charged with a class one felony for murder in the first degree.

Daniel Garcia's death was ruled a homicide after he was found laying on the front floorboard of a Chevy SUV April 23rd in the Whispering Pines apartment parking lot.

According to arrest documents, 28-year-old Garcia had just been jumped into the "Crips" and had started selling cocaine for Carlos Ford aka "Dulo."

On the night of the shooting, Garcia's girlfriend, who he lived with, saw him remove his handgun from a dresser drawer but he never returned home.

In the days that followed, CSPD found Garcia's handgun and a gang member who confirmed Ford had been trying to sell the firearm.

Officers then determining the night of shooting, Garcia he had been playing in a poker game and had ford drive him home.

Fast forward to September 13th, the third man in the car, Octavious McCants, explained what happened.

McCants said the three men were parked near a 7-11 Garcia was driving and Ford was in the front passenger seat. Ford then pulled and gun and fired.

There's no information on what lead to the shooting, McCants said he ran after he heard shots.
