GLENDALE, ARIZ. -- A woman wanted in Colorado Springs for identity theft was arrested in Glendale, Ariz. over the weekend.
Glendale Police officers arrested 26-year-old Susan Ullery, who may have been driving a car she rented using the victim's name.
Colorado Springs Police officers got a warrant for Ullery's arrest Thursday on charges of identity theft, attempt to influence a public official, forgery and theft.
Officers said she took over a Castle Rock, Colo. woman's identity in June when the woman's car was stolen with identity documents inside.
Ullery is accused of using the documents to open charge accounts at retail stores and purchasing several thousand dollars in goods.
She also opened five accounts with local banks, two under the victim's identity, then made and deposited checks from the banks, causing inflated balances before taking out the money. Checks deposited to the banks and used at retail stores later bounced.
Investigators recovered $3,000 in furniture purchased under the victim's name and credit. They are still trying to determine the losses from the banks and retail stores.
