COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- A Mountain Shadows homeowner helped catch four people who are accused of trespassing into the Waldo Canyon Fire burn area to steal from homes.
Around 5:47 p.m. Sunday, the homeowner called Colorado Springs Police officers to tell them a number of people were stealing metal from burned homes.
Officers stopped the car as it was trying to leave the neighborhood and arrested 19-year-old Selina Blair, 51-year-old Liza Rhane, 29-year-old Marshall Brooks and 20-year-old Tero Rhane on trespassing and theft charges.
Officers have been working closely with neighborhood security groups in the burn area and are advising people to call (719) 444-7000 if they see illegal activity.
