COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Colorado Springs Police officers have arrested two people and charged a third who was already in custody in connection with four robberies that occurred over a two-week span.
On July 20, two men robbed a pizza delivery driver at knifepoint, stealing his pizza, his personal items and his car. A few days later, the stolen car was found in Salina, Kan. and five people had been arrested in a separate investigation.
Detectives drove to Kansas to do a follow-up and learned other robbery cases in the city were connected to the pizza delivery robbery. Those included a knifepoint robbery July 16, another knifepoint robbery of a pizza delivery driver July 23 and a park robbery Aug. 1.
Detectives gathered enough information to get warrants for 18-year-old Alexis Mendez and 19-year-old Hunter Flores. They also requested charges for 19-year-old Jonathan Glaspy, who had already been arrested on separate charges.
According to officers, Glaspy and Flores face charges in two of the cases, and Mendez faces charges in three.
