COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- The two men who carried guns into a liquor and cigarette store looking to rob it will be charged after being shot by store employees prior to pulling off the crime.
Colorado Springs Police officers said 20-year-old Shawn Visiko and 23-year-old Darren Kranes face attempted aggravated robbery charges once they are released from the hospital.
The two men came into Smoker King Business on Uintah Street in Old Colorado City Wednesday night with guns, accused of trying to rob the store. Before they could, officers said store employees shot the two men, sending them to the hospital with serious injuries.
Both remain in the hospital Friday morning but are expected to survive.
Officers said there are no charges pending against the shooters, but their actions will be reviewed by the District Attorney's Office.
The investigation is ongoing.
