COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- An alert Colorado Springs Police officer arrested two people after spotting a stolen car Monday morning.

The officer saw the car in the 900 block of Boggs Place around 3:25 a.m. and ran the license plate. The car came up as one that had been reported stolen.

The two suspects, 33-year-old Robert McKnight and 27-year-old Lindsay Tafoya, ran from the car, but officers set up containment in the area and found them in a backyard.

Officers arrested both on charges related to the stolen car as well as unrelated warrants.
