EL PASO COUNTY, COLO. -- Colorado State troopers said a motorcycle rider who crashed into the back of a car on Highway 24 Saturday died Monday in the hospital.
Around 6:25 p.m. Saturday, 52-year-old Jeffrey Baker, an Aurora, Colo. resident, was riding east on Highway 24 approaching 31st Street in western El Paso County. The car in front of him merged into the left turn lane and Baker, who troopers said was distracted and following too closely, crashed into it.
Baker swerved the motorcycle to the right and rolled it. Both he and 52-year-old Sherrie Eiseman, who was on the back of the bike, were taken to a hospital.
Baker died Monday, and Eiseman had moderate injuries.
There were four people in the car, but none were hurt. The crash remains under investigation, but troopers said they don't think alcohol or drugs were involved.
