TRINIDAD, COLO. (AP) -- About 200 employees at a Trinidad coal mine are facing temporary layoffs while the owners pursue financing and other alternatives.
Toronto-based Cline Mining Corp. said Wednesday it is temporarily suspending production at the New Elk Coal mine.
The layoffs will affect more than three-quarters of the workforce.
According to the Denver Post, the layoffs could last two months or more, depending on market conditions.
