Springs man accused of texting death threats

COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- A man accused of texting death threats about his estranged girlfriend to multiple people is behind bars Monday morning.

Colortado Springs Police officers arrested 30-year-old James Ernst Sunday evening after investigators determined he was aggressively stalking the woman.

Officers said Ernst sent text messages to several numbers saying he was going to kill her. He then began aggressively trying to find her.

Officers got Ernst's address and arrested him on felony stalking charges around 7 p.m. in the 3800 block of Radiant Drive.
