Kitten found alive beneath wildfire rubble reunited with owner

COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Colorado Springs Police officers rescued a small kitten in a fire evacuation area late Friday night.

Officers patrolling the area rescued it and took it to the animal response team at Cheyenne Mountain High School.

A veterinarian examined the the cat and said it was healthy but hungry. Officials tracked the chip number and found the owner, who reclaimed his kitten.

The owner lives in the evacuated area, but officers didn't release any other information about him.
