PARK COUNTY, COLO. -- U.S. Forest Service officials said a 70-acre fire burning in Park County near Wilkerson Pass could be fully contained by Tuesday's end.
The Weber Fire started Saturday and quickly spread to 70 acres by Monday. However, favorable temperatures and little wind helped firefighters contain 50 percent of the wildfire by Monday evening.
Of the 70 acres, 50 are burning on U.S. Forest Service land, and 20 are burning on private land.
Crews will continue to work Tuesday with similar weather conditions and a slight chance of storms, which could help in their efforts to have it completely contained by Tuesday evening.
There are two 20-man teams fighting the fire, along with five engines. No homes are threatened, and officials have not ordered evacuations.
