SOUTHERN COLORADO -- Parts of southern Colorado took a pounding Wednesday night as storms swept across the area.

A slow moving thunderstorm crept along Colorado Springs, dousing El Paso County with rain and some major hail.

The result - multiple instances of flash flooding and damage.

The storm shut down several major highways in Colorado Springs.

Near the Citadl Mall, more than four feet of hail buried cars.

Crews had to rescue several people who became trapped.
