BOULDER, COLO. (AP) -- A 21-year-old woman who was shot in the hip when she entered a stranger's home in Boulder surrendered to police on a warrant for suspicion of trespassing.

Zoey Ripple presented herself at the Boulder County Jail Tuesday and was released on $5,000 bail. The Boulder Daily Camera reports that she faces a charge of first-degree criminal trespassing. It carries a sentence of up to five years if convicted.

She's due in court June 15.

The homeowner who shot Ripple doesn't face charges because Colorado's "Make My Day" law allows residents to defend themselves against suspected intruders.

Police say Ripple was drunk when she entered a Boulder home early May 23. Police say Ripple did not respond to warnings from the homeowners that they had a gun and would shoot.
