DENVER (AP) -- Colorado weather forecasters are coping with fire and ice heading into the Memorial Day weekend.

The National Weather Service says snow showers in the mountains will be ending Thursday morning, with accumulations of less than an inch leaving slick roads on some highways.

Meanwhile, forecasters in Grand Junction have issued a fire weather watch beginning Friday for areas west of the Continental Divide as firefighters continue to mop up a wildfire that scorched about 12 square miles near Fort Collins.
