COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Colorado State troopers have released the name of the man who died in a crash in southeastern Colorado Springs Monday afternoon.
Troopers said 53-year-old Steven Haskins, a Colorado Springs resident, died around 1:35 p.m. when his Buick was t-boned by a Jeep while he was trying to turn west onto Platte Avenue from northbound Powers Boulevard.
The Jeep was going east on Platte and allegedly ran a red light before slamming into the Buick. The Jeep's driver, 22-year-old Jordan Schultz, tried to brake but couldn't avoid the car.
Three passengers in the Buick, 18-year-old Kimberly Haskins, 51-year-old Mei Ling Haskins and 58-year-old Michael Haskins, were all taken to a hospital with various injuries.
Everybody involved were wearing seatbelts, and no charges have been filed as of Tuesday morning.
