COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- A Colorado Springs couple who lost a newborn baby at birth on Mother's Day Sunday has set up a fund to help with cremation and funeral services.

Nina Lovern tried to give birth to Tristin Tapia Sunday, but the baby died somewhere in the process, according to Lovern's brother.

The 24-year-old woman and the father, 29-year-old Steven Tapia, are asking for help.  Funeral services are set for Thursday, but Lovern's brother said the couple wants to keep it small and private.

The brother said the family did not want to be contacted and didn't want help initially until realizing they needed it to help put Tristin to rest. He did not say exactly how Tristin died, and did not give any more information about the couple.

Anyone interested in donating can find the fund at any ENT Federal Credit Union under Tristin's name.
