COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- A SWAT team was called upon Monday morning to arrest a man who had fired shots in a home and refused to come out.

A person called 911 around 8 a.m. and told Colorado Springs Police officers a woman had left the home in the 4600 block of Skywriter Circle, then 2-3 shots were fired.

When officers arrived, they secured a perimeter and tried to make contact with the man, 47-year-old Michael Sanders.

Officers learned Sanders' wife and 25-year-old daughter left the home after a disturbance Sunday night. When they came back Monday morning, Sanders wasn't home, but he came back drunk shortly thereafter, according to his wife. The shots were fired as she was leaving the house.

Officers and SWAT team members announced and commanded him to come out, but he didn't. They finally used gas to draw him out, and officers arrested him for reckless endangerment and failure to obey commands.

Nobody was hurt in the Monday standoff.
