SOUTHERN COLORADO -- Fremont County Sheriff's deputies and Colorado Springs Police officers both made arrests over the weekend in connection with car break-ins.

On Saturday night, deputies in Fremont County arrested two Pueblo women for breaking into at least four cars at the Blossom Festival carnival.

According to deputies, 19-year-old Kayla Ocana was seen by a sergeant pulling on the door handle of a pickup truck. When Ocana saw the sergeant, she quickly walked away but was stopped for questioning. The sergeant then followed her back to her SUV, where 20-year-old Monique Vincente was waiting. After further questioning, deputies arrested both women for first degree criminal trespass and theft.

Deputies also found several stolen items in the SUV, as well as two sleeping children who were eventually released to Ocana's father.

Both women have a $2,000 bond.

Sunday night in Colorado Springs, officers were able to track down one person for breaking into several cars. Officers responded when a neighbor called saying two suspicious males were trying to break into cars. They found several cars that had been broken into in the 7200 block of Grand Prairie Drive, and they found two people walking in the area of Hawk Springs Drive and Sleeping Giant Drive.

The two ran from officers around 11:26 p.m., but they were able to track one of them down. The suspect had several items from two additional car break-ins on him.

The investigation is ongoing, and officers haven't released any suspect information yet.
