COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Colorado Springs police are investigating skeletal remains found near Mesa Rd. and Uintah.
Colorado Springs Utilities coordinated a clean-up for 1400 Manitou Blvd. Saturday morning, and while collecting trash they discovered the remains.
Investigators said the decomposed remains slow the investigation and make it more challenging.
The Major Crimes Unit is combing the wooded area and digging through trash bags collected by the volunteers for any additional evidence.
The death investigation is considered suspicious at this time.
