PUEBLO, COLO. (AP) -- The new Pueblo fire station under construction is becoming a hotspot for crime.
In the past five months, police have been called to the new station eight times. Burglars have taken more than $43,000 in property including high-priced monitoring equipment, scrap metal and tools.
According to the Pueblo Chieftain, Police Chief Luis Velez said site security is the responsibility of the construction company and extra patrols weren't assigned to check on the station.
