COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- The man who has allegedly robbed several Walgreens pharmacies over the past few weeks has been arrested after robbing the sixth one Tuesday.

According to Walgreens officials, a man matching the description of the man who Walgreens employees around Colorado Springs said has robbed several stores this month walked into the store at the intersection of Dublin Boulevard and Union Boulevard Tuesday morning but was recognized by employees there, so he left.

He then went to the store on the corner of Rangewood Drive and Woodmen Road in the city, demanded drugs and left with about 10 pills.

Colorado Springs Police officers arrested him, 23-year-old Anthony Craig, about a mile away at Dublin and Bitterroot Drive.

Officers said they were on high alert in the area after receiving the info about Craig being near Dublin and Union.

They said Craig is likely the man responsible for the other robberies in the area over the past five weeks.

Mark Davis, Walgreens District Loss Prevention Manager, said he is not surprised by Tueday's positive outcome, as the company just rolled out new time-delayed safes.

"The customer presents a prescription to the pharmacy staff who actives the time-delayed safe, and after an undetermined amount of time they can access the medications," Davis said. "The pharmacy has placed the most highly addictive and sought after drugs in the safe."
