DENVER (AP) -- Colorado could have two separate questions about legalizing marijuana on ballots this fall.

A group of marijuana activists unhappy with the Colorado pot proposal awaiting petition approval from the secretary of state released a rival suggestion on Wednesday.

The second marijuana proposal would not put a limit on how much marijuana a person could have for recreational use. The first measure says adults over 21 could have up to 1 ounce of marijuana.

The rival pot measure also seeks to undo state regulation of marijuana by the Department of Revenue, which now oversees medical marijuana sales. Sponsors of the second measure have not yet sought clearance from a state board to begin gathering signatures.
