COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- The Colorado State Patrol has released the name of a girl killed in car crash Tuesday evening at the intersection of Marksheffel and Fontaine.
State troopers said 17-year-old Bethany Maes of Colorado Springs was heading westbound on Fontaine when she ran a stop sign.
A truck that was heading north on Marksheffel Road attempted to brake but could not stop in time and crashed into the small car on the driver's side, sending the car spinning.
Maes died at the scene.
Three children were also in the car, 15-year-old Briana Medina-Martinez, 11-year-old Curtis Martinez and 6-year-old Grace Morales.
All were taken to a local hospital.
The State Patrol said Medina-Martinez and Martinez both suffered serious but not life-threatening injuries, while Morales suffered life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the truck, 25-year-old Dane Snyder, was not hurt in the collision.
Authorities said both drivers were wearing seat belts and the children were in child constraints.
