DENVER -- Welcome news for the state as a new report states that foreclosures in Colorado are down steeply.
The State Division of Housing said that foreclosures are down in the state by 28 percent.
Foreclosure filings were down more than 32 percent in Denver County.
El Paso County foreclosure filings dropped from 4,396 in November of 2010 to 3,242 in November of 2011, a decline of about 26 percent.
Pueblo County reported the smallest decline in filings with a decrease of only 12.5 percent from the first eleven months of 2010 to the same period of time this year.
In a statement a spokesman with the Colorado Division of Housing said that it looks like Colorado is going to end 2011 with fewer foreclosure than in 2010.
All counties surveyed saw some kind of decrease in filings.
