PUEBLO, COLO. -- Pueblo Police officers said the man who hit a woman with his car, then fled the scene Nov. 19 has turned himself in.
Officers arrested Rocky Valdez Wednesday and charged him with careless driving and failure to remain at the scene after accident involving serious bodily injury.
Barbra Duran was walking across West Northern Avenue around 7:56 that evening when Valdez hit her while driving, then left.
Officers began asking for the public's help Monday when they released a statement identifying a potential make and model of Valdez's car. He was driving a 2000 Dodge Durango, which matched the original report.
The 53-year-old Duran is still listed in serious condition at Denver General Hospital.
