DENVER (AP) -- A quick moving winter storm is blowing across Colorado, bringing up to a foot of snow.

The heaviest snow is expected in the Denver area and northern mountains.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for areas south and east of Denver until Thursday afternoon, accompanied by high winds that could make travel dangerous.
