COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Friends and family gathered at Fort Carson Thursday morning to cheer for their returning heroes.
The Mountain Post celebrated the return of 110 soldiers from the 549th Quartermaster Company, 43rd Sustainment Brigade.
The soldiers were welcomed home to open arms and smiling faces after completing a seven-month deployment to Iraq.
The soldiers helped provide essential services for troops stationed at the Victory Base Complex and Joint Base Balad as well as playing a key role in removing excess equipment from Iraq as other troops withdraw from the region.
