SOUTHERN COLORADO -- Do you have smelly feet? Try soaking them in vodka.
Suffering from blisters? Dap a little Listerine on them.
So what other home remedies really work?
We recently asked our Facebook fans for suggestions and took them to Dr. Jessica German, a holistic practitioner in Colorado Springs, to have them checked out.
Our first home remedy is from Facebook fan Dave. He claims downing two raw beaten eggs before a run makes you feel better. German said this depends on the person. If you're healthy, your body will handle the raw just fine.
Have a sore throat? Try gargling with salt water. German said sea salt is best.
If you have a stain you can't get out, Maureen claims hairspray mixed with a little soap and water will do the trick. It worked for us.
Need to get deodorant off a shirt? Rub it with some panty hose.
Our next home remedy is from Jim. He claims putting a bar of soap under your sheets will help with achy joints. But German wasn't sold on this one. She said maybe if the soap is on a pressure point, but it most likely will not do the trick.
If you're sick to your stomach, Cheryl said burn a piece of toast, break it into pieces and eat it slowly. However German said a rice cracker is better.
If you suffer from motion sickness, suck on a lemon.
Have dandruff? Mix a little baking soda with your shampoo.
Do you have corns or calluses on your feet? Here's the recipe: grind up a few pieces of licorice, and mix it with half a teaspoon of petroleum jelly. Licorice contains estrogen-like substances that soften hard skin, but German said be careful with petroleum jelly. She said it's a very strong chemical and really gets into our bodies and absorbs into the skin.
Here's another one for a sore throat: mix vinegar and apple cider. German said it's great when it's combined with lemon and honey.
Listerine has been clinically proven to help with a few things: dandruff, lice, toenail fungus and blisters.
German said a lot of people find home remedies on the Internet, but she warns just because it's on the internet doesn't mean it works.
