COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Colorado Springs Police officers have released a sketch of the man believed to have sexually assaulted a girl on her way to school Oct. 25.
According to officers, the 12-year-old girl was walking to a nearby bus stop for school when a man lured her behind a building in the 400 block of East Brookside Street around 8:37 a.m. that day and raped her.
The man was wearing a brown baseball cap, baggy blue jeans and a green jacket during the assault.
Officers used the girl's recollection and witnesses who saw the man in the area before the assault to produce the sketch above.
The man is while with pale skin, about 20-28 years old and is 5'6" with brown hair. About 1-2 hours before the assault, witnesses said they saw him wearing black sunglasses, a dirty/worn brown baseball cap with yellow writing, a puffy black jacket, baggy blue jeans and a gold necklace that hung halfway down his chest.
Officers said the man was on foot.
